A delegation whose members were chosen by SMEDI was invited to a working and networking visit to the Chennai proton therapy center in India.
The delegation was led by Mr. Ghazi Mejbri, manager of SMEDI, and was made up of doctors and oncologists from Tunisia, Gabon, Guinea and Benin, all partners of SMEDI.
3 Tunisian oncologists took part in the delegation.
During the stay, the members of the delegations
– participated in various scientific conferences and presentations on the state of the art in the field (9 conference debates)
– exchanged with the greatest Indian oncologists of various oncological specialties (neuro, gastro, radio, cardio, gynecology etc.).
– Visited the equipment, facilities and behind the scenes of all the organization, the functioning of the cancer treatment and proton therapy center and of course the proton accelerator.
– exchanged with oncologists from 12 countries (India, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ghana, Kenya, Gabon, Guinea, Oman, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, UAE).
The visit was also an opportunity to discover the province of Chennai, rich in history, monuments and cultural specificities.
The members of the delegation were fully supported by the Apollo Clinic, by Shinon. SMEDI contributed to the support of certain members.
